At a news conference on Parliament Hill, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau provides an update on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. The prime minister is joined by Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and International Trade Minister Mary Ng. Minister Ng announces an additional $12 million through theCanada United Small Business Relief Fund to help small business owners respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are joined by Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, and Dr. Howard Njoo, the deputy chief public health officer.

The prime minister also responds to questions on other issues including the Conservative motion calling for a special committee to investigate the WE Charity controversy and other alleged ethical breaches.
