COVID-19: Nunavut Lifts Lockdown In All Communities Except Arviat
In Iqaluit, Joe Savikataaq, premier of Nunavut, Dr. Michael Patterson, Nunavut’s chief medical officer of health, and Lorne Kusugak, minister of health, provide an update on the territory’s response to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). The territory is easing restrictions as its two-week lockdown ends, but measures will remain in Arviat. There are 65 active cases in that community and it will remain in lockdown for at least another two weeks in order to reduce community transmission. Masks are mandatory in all public places, gatherings must not exceed five people, and travel out of Arviat is restricted. (December 2, 2020) (no interpretation)
