COVID-19: Canada Responds
Newfoundland and Labrador Update on COVID-19 – December 4, 2020
In St. John’s, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Newfoundland and Labrador’s chief medical officer of health, Andrew Furey, premier of N.L., and John Haggie, minister of health, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Premier Furey faces questions on the health minister's decision to host a fundraising event in St. John's on December 2, hours after a COVID-19 briefing where the premier asked people to avoid attending New Year's Eve gatherings. A total of 23 people attended the fundraiser. The premier says the timing was not right and that a similar event will not happen again. (no interpretation)
