Ontario COVID-19 Update: Health Official Says Curfew Unlikely – January 11, 2021

In Toronto, Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Ontario’s associate chief medical officer of health, provides an update on the response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The update comes one day ahead of the release of new modelling data and the expected announcement of additional public-health measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the province. In her remarks, Dr. Yaffe indicates that an Ontario-wide curfew will not be among the new measures. A nighttime curfew has been in effect in the neighbouring province of Quebec since January 9.
