Alberta Update on COVID-19 – January 11, 2021
In Calgary, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney provides an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic, including its plan for the rollout of vaccines. He is joined by Tyler Shandro, the Alberta minister of health. Dusty Myshrall, the president of the Alberta Paramedic Association, and Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, take part in the briefing via teleconference. In his remarks, the premier announces the expansion of eligibility criteria for the COVID-19 vaccine to include paramedics and emergency medical technicians. However, the premier also warns that demand for vaccines in Alberta could soon exceed the supply. (no interpretation)
