COVID-19: Canada Responds
P.E.I. Update on COVID-19 – January 19, 2021
In Charlottetown, Dennis King, the premier of Prince Edward Island, Dr. Heather Morrison, the chief public health officer of P.E.I., and Marion Dowling, Health P.E.I.’s COVID-19 response lead, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They also comment on the previous night's fire that forced the evacuation of nearly 50 residents from long-term care home in Wellington. The premier announces that the province will soon ease some public-health restrictions, but its participation in the "Atlantic bubble" will remain suspended until at least mid-February. Two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in P.E.I., and 5,910 vaccine doses have been administered. (no interpretation)
