COVID-19: Canada Responds
COVID-19: Quebec Calls for Hotel Quarantine for Travellers – January 21, 2021
In Quebec City, Quebec Premier François Legault provides an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Christian Dubé, Quebec’s minister of health and social services, and Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province’s director of public health. After calling for a ban on international flights for non-essential travels, Legault says he will suggest an alternative to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during their meeting scheduled later in the day. The premier will ask the federal government to impose a 14-day supervised quarantine in hotels for travellers coming back to Canada. Travellers would have to pay for the hotel room.
