Federal Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution, New NACI Guidance
Dr. Howard Njoo, Canada’s deputy chief public health officer, conducts a virtual technical briefing concerning Canada’s distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. He also discusses the March 3, 2021, recommendation from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) that doses can be effectively administered up to four months apart. He is joined by Major-General Dany Fortin, vice-president of logistics and operations at the Public Health Agency of Canada and head of the country’s vaccine distribution efforts, Dr. Supriya Sharma, a senior medical advisor with Health Canada, Dr. Marc Berthiaume, the director of the Bureau of Medical Science at Health Canada, and by Joelle Paquette, director general responsible for vaccine procurement at Public Services and Procurement Canada.
