COVID-19: Canada Responds
Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister on Tax Relief, COVID-19 Vaccines
At a press conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announces his government is implementing a promised tax rollback guarantee one year ahead of schedule. The province says the average Manitoba taxpayer will save $2,020 over four years through a series of measures that include reducing the provincial sales tax (PST) to seven per cent from eight, removing the PST on personal care services, and phasing out education property taxes. Manitobans will start to receive rebate cheques this year. The premier also faces questions on his government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and on the rollout of vaccines.
