In a virtual news conference, federal ministers Patty Hajdu (health), Dominic LeBlanc (intergovernmental affairs), Harjit Sajjan (defence) and Bill Blair (public safety) discuss emergency federal efforts to assist Ontario in its response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Minister LeBlanc outlines several ways the federal government will provide support, including: covering costs to bring health-care workers in from other provinces, deploying federal health-care staff, assisting cities with rapid testing, and investing $84.2 million for safe isolation sites.
