COVID-19: Canada Responds
Nova Scotia Update on COVID-19 Response, Testing Changes
In Halifax, Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health, and Premier Iain Rankin provide an update on the province's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They announce that due to a backlog of COVID-19 tests, the province is temporarily changing its testing strategy. Primary assessment centres are now only open to anyone with symptoms, anyone who has come into contact with a known case, anyone who has been at an exposure location, or anyone who has travelled outside Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Asymptomatic testing for everyone else will still be available at rapid testing sites. (April 30, 2021) (no interpretation)
