COVID-19: Canada Responds
Manitoba Announces $2M to Support Child-Care Operators – May 12, 2021
At a news conference in Winnipeg, Manitoba Families Minister Rochelle Squires announces $1.9 million to support early learning and child-care facilities as K-12 schools in Winnipeg and Brandon move to remote learning until May 30 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Parents of school-aged children in child-care spaces in those two cities will not be expected to pay fees during this time. Facilities will receive funding to offset their losses of revenue from before-and-after-school programs, and to cover fees from families with reserved spaces. A decision will be made on additional funding if the remote learning period is extended. (no interpretation)
