COVID-19 in N.S.: Injunction Granted to Stop Lockdown Protests – May 14, 2021
In Halifax, Iain Rankin, the premier of Nova Scotia, and Dr. Robert Strang, the province's chief medical officer of health, provide an update on the provincial response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. In his remarks, Premier Rankin announces his government has been granted an injunction by the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia to halt anti-vaccine and anti-public health order protests. The injunction also prohibits organizers from promoting illegal gatherings on social media. A group called ‘Freedom Nova Scotia’ and other protestors had scheduled rallies on May 15, in defiance of public health orders. (no interpretation)
