Ontario Investing $35M to Add 2,000 Nurses
In a virtual news conference, Ontario Long-Term Care Minister Dr. Merrilee Fullerton announces that her government is investing an additional $35 million to increase enrolment at nursing education programs in publicly-assisted colleges and universities across the province. The investment will create spaces for approximately 1,130 new practical nurses and 870 registered nurses. She is joined by Ross Romano (provincial minister of colleges and universities), Linda Franklin (president and CEO of Colleges Ontario), and Steve Orsini (president and CEO, Council of Ontario Universities).
