COVID-19: Canada Responds
Federal Update on COVID-19, Hotel Quarantines – June 9, 2021
In a virtual news conference, Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, and Dr. Howard Njoo, deputy chief public health officer, join federal ministers Patty Hajdu (health), Anita Anand (public services and procurement) and Dominic LeBlanc (intergovernmental affairs) to provide an update on Canada’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. They announce that fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents who are authorized to travel in Canada will soon be able to skip the mandatory hotel quarantine, but they will still have to obtain a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival to the country and have an isolation plan while waiting for the results.
