At an event in Ottawa, Erin O’Toole is named as the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, securing 57 per cent of the vote on the third and final ballot to beat leadership rival Peter MacKay. O’Toole and MacKay, as well as Leslyn Lewis and Derek Sloan, were in the running to succeed Andrew Scheer following an eight-month leadership contest that was briefly interrupted and eventually extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Peter Van Dusen hosts CPAC’s coverage.
