Women’s Rights Leaders and MPs on Human Rights Abuses in Iran

At a news conference in Ottawa on the occasion of Iran Accountability Week, Irwin Cotler, chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights and former justice minister, is joined by MPs from all parties and activists to highlight the human rights situation in Iran. Among the speakers are women’s rights activists Masih Alinejad and Shaparak Shajarizadeh, as well as Richard Ratcliffe, who is speaking on behalf of families of foreign hostages in Iran. Parliamentarians have been marking the first week of May as Iran Accountability Week for the past seven years. (May 9, 2019)
