PM Trudeau on UN Security Council Seat Bid, Teck Frontier Mine
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau holds a news conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is meeting with leaders attending the 33rd African Union Summit. The prime minister will also visit Senegal as part of his official trip to Africa from February 6 to 13. He faces questions on Canada's bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council, the future of Alberta’s proposed Teck Frontier oilsands mine, which is awaiting federal cabinet approval, and Canada's response to the coronavirus outbreak. Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri, who was invited to join the Canadian delegation on the trip, also briefly speaks with reporters. (February 9, 2020)
