Grain Growers Discuss Impact of Carbon Tax

Jeff Nielson and Shane Stokke, the chair and vice-chair of Grain Growers of Canada, as well as Dean Toews of Manitoba Corn Growers, hold a news conference in Ottawa to outline challenges faced by farmers. They also discuss a private member’s bill introduced by Conservative MP Philip Lawrence. His bill would amend provisions in the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to exempt qualifying farmers from paying carbon tax on gasoline, diesel fuel, propane and natural gas used for grain drying.
