Ontario Extends School Closures Due to COVID-19 – March 31, 2020
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and provincial cabinet ministers Christine Elliott (health), Ross Romano (colleges and universities), and Stephen Lecce (education) discuss details of their plan for Ontario’s elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions. The premier announces that schools will remain closed until at least May as the number of COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases continue to rise in the province. Child care centres will also remain closed. Publicly funded schools in the province have been closed since March 14 due to the ongoing outbreak. (no interpretation)
