Ministers Respond to Federal Court Ruling on CSIS
At a news conference on Parliament Hill, Bill Blair, the federal public safety minister, and David Lametti, the federal justice minister and attorney general, respond to a Federal Court ruling concerning the failure of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) to disclose, in applications for warrants, potentially unlawful intelligence-gathering practices. The ruling calls for a comprehensive external review of CSIS’s governance and its internal culture. The ministers are joined at the news conference by David Vigneault, the director of CSIS, and Nathalie Drouin, the deputy justice minister and deputy attorney general.
