Stephen McNeil to Step Down as Premier of Nova Scotia – August 6, 2020
At a news conference in Halifax, Stephen McNeil announces that he will be stepping down as premier of Nova Scotia. McNeil was first elected to public office as an MLA for Annapolis in 2003, and has served as premier of the province since 2013. He will continue in his roles as premier and leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party until a replacement is selected by the party.
