Opposition Reaction to B.C. Election Call – September 21, 2020
Sonia Furstenau, the new leader of the Green Party of British Columbia, and Andrew Wilkinson, leader of the BC Liberal Party, speak with reporters in Victoria following Premier John Horgan’s snap election call. Voters in B.C. will head to the polls on October 24, one year earlier than the fixed provincial election date of October 16, 2021. Horgan's NDP party formed a minority government in 2017, when the Green party signed a four-year agreement to support his party. The two parties went on to defeat the governing Liberal party led by then-premier Christy Clark on a confidence vote. (no interpretation)
