Nova Scotia Premier on Cabinet Shuffle, COVID-19 Response – October 13, 2020
Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil speaks with reporters in Halifax about the changes to his cabinet. He also responds to questions about his government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and on whether New Brunswick's rise in cases will affect the "Atlantic bubble". The premier named new ministers of labour, health and forestry, following the decisions of those three ministers to resign in order to take part in the province's Liberal leadership race. McNeil announced in August that he would be stepping down as premier but would remain until a new Liberal party leader was chosen. The party will choose its new leader on February 6, 2021.
