N.B. Health Minister Announces Review of Mental Health Crisis Care
New Brunswick Health Minister Dorothy Shephard holds a news conference in Fredericton to announce she has ordered a review of mental health crisis care in the province, following the suicide of a teenager who did not receive any mental health help after waiting in an emergency room for over eight hours. Lexi Daken took her own life on February 24. The provincial government recently released its five-year plan to address the increasing demand for addiction and mental-health services in New Brunswick. The minister also responds to questions from reporters about COVID-19 vaccine distribution and about visitation restrictions at hospitals during the pandemic. (March 3, 2021) (no interpretation)
