NDP MP Tables Bill to Decriminalize Drug Use – April 15, 2021

NDP health critic Don Davies holds a virtual news conference after tabling his private member’s bill (C-286) on substance use and addiction. His bill calls for a health-based approach to treating addiction with the full decriminalization of drugs, regulated safe supply, universal access to drug treatment, and criminal record expungement. He is joined by Leslie McBain, co-founder of the group Moms Stop the Harm, as well as Cheyenne Johnson and Guy Felicella, respectively the interim executive director and peer clinical adviser at the BC Centre on Substance Use.
