Federal Govt. Investing $15M for Electric Transit Bus Project
François-Philippe Champagne, the federal minister of innovation, science and industry, announces an investment in transport electrification during a news conference at the Saint-Eustache, Quebec, plant of transit bus manufacturer Nova Bus. He announces a federal investment of $15 million to help the North American manufacturer electrify public transit buses and produce a range of all-electric and battery-powered buses. The investment will also be used to upgrade Nova Bus's Quebec manufacturing facilities in Saint-Eustache and Saint-François-du-Lac. Martin Lundstedt (CEO of the Volvo Group) and Ralph Acs (senior vice-president, region North America for Volvo Buses and president of Nova Bus) also make remarks. Volvo is also investing $450 million in Nova Bus for research and development over the next 10 years. Nova Bus is a division of the Volvo Group. (June 8, 2021) (no interpretation)
