Tributes to Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton – June 3, 2021

Speaker Anthony Rota and other members of Parliament pay tribute to Bruce Stanton, the deputy speaker of the House of Commons. Stanton announced last year that he would not be seeking re-election to the House. First elected in the riding of Simcoe North, Ont., in 2006, Stanton has served in the deputy speaker role since 2015.

Also paying tribute are Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole, Bloc Québécois House leader Alain Therrien, Liberal MP and former House of Commons Speaker Geoff Regan, NDP House leader Peter Julian, and Green Party parliamentary leader Elizabeth May.
