Firearms Industry Raises Concerns Over Government’s Gun Reforms
National Security and Defence - February 25, 2019 - Part 3: Representatives from firearms distributors and a Canadian sporting association voice their concerns to the committee over Bill C-71, the government’s gun reforms. The bill would enhance required background checks, change authorization to transport rules and require gun retailers to record all their sales and inventories. The committee also hears from Professor Jooyoung Lee, an expert in gun violence. Participating in the study are Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association’s Alison de Groot and Wes Winkel, Firearms Outlet Canada’s Adam Caruana, Wolverine Supplies’ Matthew Hipwell, and Brian Mishara and Jooyoung Lee as individuals.
