Committee Reviews Gun Control Bill Clause-by-Clause
National Security and Defence - April 8, 2018: The senators undertake a clause-by-clause review of Bill C-71, An Act to amend certain Acts and Regulations in relation to firearms. The bill would enhance required background checks and change authorization to transport rules, as well as require retailers to record of all firearm sales and inventories. The committee is joined by several government experts to answer questions through the process. Participating in the review are Department of Justice Canada’s Alexandra Budgell, Department of Justice Canada’s Paula Clarke, Public Safety Canada’s Randall Koops and Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Robert Mackinnon.
