Senators Discuss Govt's Steel Safeguards Bill
National Finance - June 19, 2019: Senators begin their pre-study of Bill C-101, legislation aimed at protecting the Canadian market against a potential increase of foreign steel dumping. It would amend the Customs Tariff and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act to temporarily remove the two-year moratorium on the imposition of a variety of product safeguards. The witnesses are Patrick Halley and Michèle Govier (Department of Finance Canada) and John Layton (Global Affairs Canada).
