The committee begins its study of Bill C-4, an Act to implement the Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement, the new North American free trade deal.

Appearing before the committee to assist with its study are trade lawyer Lawrence L. Herman; the C.D. Howe Institute’s Dan Ciuriak; the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Mark Agnew; the Canadian Global Affairs Institute’s Colin Robertson; the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters’ Chad Swance; as well as the Council of Canadians’ Sujata Dey.
