Legal and Constitutional Affairs - February 1, 2021 - Part 2: Former senator Serge Joyal, Marie-Claude Landry, the chief Canadian human rights commissioner, and Gerard Quin, the United Nations special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities, participate in the committee's study on Bill C-7. The bill seeks to amend the Criminal Code concerning medical assistance in dying (MAID). Also participating in the study are academics Patrick Taillon (Laval University), A. Wayne MacKay (Dalhousie University), and Elizabeth Sheehy (University of Ottawa); as well as Canadian Human Rights Commission’s Marcella Daye.
