Senators hear from lawyers and advocates for persons with disabilities for the committee’s study on Bill C-7, the government’s legislation to amend the Criminal Code concerning medical assistance in dying (MAID).

Speaking to the committee are the Council of Canadians with Disabilities’ Heidi Janz, barrister David Shannon, palliative care physician Dr. Naheed Dosani, Institut de planification des soins du Québec’s Danielle Chalifoux, Coop ASSIST – Quebec Cooperative for Independent Living’s Jonathan Marchand, and Disability Justice Network of Ontario’s Sarah Jama.
