In Committee from the House of Commons
Subcommittee on International Human Rights - April 28, 2015
A delegation from Mexico appears at the committee to discuss the 43 missing students from the Ayotzinapa Teachers’ School. The male students were attacked in September 2014 by Mexican state security forces and have never been seen again. Hilda Legideno Vargas, the parent of a missing student, Jorge Clemente Balbuena, a student leader at the school, and Isidoro Vicario Aguilar, a human rights lawyer representing the students’ families, testify. The delegation has spoken at events in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec over the past month to raise awareness of the disappearance and of human rights violations in Mexico. (April 28, 2015)
