Committee Studies Grim UN Report on Biodiversity
Environment and Sustainable Development - June 17, 2019: MPs proceeds to study a new United Nations report on the global biodiversity crisis. With the help of scientists from around the world, the report says that 1 in 4 species of plants and animals face extinction within decades. Speaking to the committee are Kai Chan (University of British Columbia), Jeremy Kerr (University of Ottawa), Dan Kraus (Nature Conservancy of Canada), Alison Woodley (Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society), Justina Ray (Wildlife Conservation Society Canada), and Harvey Locke (Union of Nature World Commission on Protected Areas).
