Special COVID-19 Committee: PM Faces Questions Over China

Special Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic – May 19, 2020:

MPs observe a moment of silence to commemorate Captain Jennifer Casey’s death from a CF Snowbird crash during Operation INSPIRATION in Kamloops, B.C. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faces questions virtually over the hacking risk of Canadian COVID-19 research, China’s role in the World Health Organization, the government’s wage subsidy program, and more.

The special committee comprises all 338 MPs and will meet via videoconference on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The meeting format, which comes in response to concerns about maintaining physical distancing during the pandemic, was established in a motion passed by the House of Commons on April 20, 2020.
