Special COVID-19 Committee: New Hybrid Meeting Format

Special Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic – May 28, 2020:

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland faces questions about the effectiveness of the new hybrid in-person/virtual committee format, the government’s ‘AgriStability’ assistance program for farmers, the crisis in long-term care homes, and more.

The House of Commons passed a government motion on May 26, 2020, with support from the Liberals, the New Democrats and the Greens, concerning the schedule for sittings during the ongoing pandemic. The meeting schedule for the Special Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic has been expanded from three to four days a week until June 17.
