Special COVID-19 Committee: Bid for a UN Security Council Seat

Special Committee on the COVID-19 Pandemic – June 17, 2020

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defends his government’s efforts to secure a United Nations Security Council seat and his track record on foreign policy. The prime minister also faces questions about federal health transfers to the provinces, the extension of the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), disability benefits, and more.

The special committee comprises all 338 MPs and will meet in a hybrid meeting format, which combines MPs in the chamber with others joining by video link.
