State of Pacific Salmon: Impact from Big Bar Landslide
Fisheries and Oceans - July 23, 2020: MPs meet virtually to study the state of Pacific salmon in Canada, with a focus on the impact from the Big Bar landslide on the fish’s population. In June 2019, a landslide north of Lillooet, B.C., created a barrier on the Fraser River, causing problems for salmon migration. Participating in the study are Carl Waters (University of British Columbia), Jesse Zeman (BC Wildlife Federation), Jason Hwang (Pacific Salmon Foundation), and Aaron Hill (Watershed Watch Salmon Society).
