Mi’kmaq Fishing Rights: The Study Continues

Fisheries and Oceans – December 2, 2020:

The committee continues its study of the implementation of Mi’kmaq treaty fishing rights to support a moderate livelihood.

Participating in the study are Sterling Belliveau, a former fisherman and Minister of Fisheries of Nova Scotia; Dr. Michael Dadswell, a former biology professor; Gary Hutchins, a former official at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans; and Melanie Sonnenberg, President of the Canadian Independent Fish Harvesters Federation.
