Grocery Execs Defend Cancelled Pandemic Pay for Workers

Industry, Science and Technology – July 10, 2020:

MPs question grocery company executives Michael Medline (president and CEO, Empire Company Limited), Sarah Davis (president, Loblaw Companies Limited) and Eric La Flèche (president and CEO, Metro inc.) over the chains’ decision to cancel COVID-19 pandemic pay premiums for front-line grocery store workers. The companies announced in June they were ending the $2 hourly pay increase that workers were given during the coronavirus pandemic.
