Federal Election: Day 35 of the Campaign – October 15, 2019
The LNG Quebec project, a pipeline that’s meant to deliver natural gas from western Canada to Saguenay, was once again brought into the campaign. An op-ed published in La Presse and signed by some 40 scientists that is highly critical of the project forced federal party leaders to make their position clear on the subject.
Joël-Denis Bellavance (standing in for Esther Bégin) discusses day 35 with political scientist Stéphanie Chouinard of the Royal Military College of Canada.
Also on the show: the impact of social media in the campaign with PhD student Philippe Dubois from Laval University, and Acadie Nouvelle editorialist François Gravel talks about eastern Canada and the election campaign.
