Today was the opening of the 43rd Parliament at the House of Commons. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered his Speech from the Throne and a new Speaker of the House was elected: Anthony Rota. For the occasion, L’Essentiel is broadcasting a special 60-minute program.

Esther Bégin recaps the day with CPAC journalist Marc-André Cossette and political scientists Geneviève Tellier (University of Ottawa) and Daniel Béland (McGill University).
