Bennett Meets with Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs – February 27, 2020
After three weeks of rail blockades, the federal minister of Crown-Indigenous relations finally sat down face-to-face today with Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs and her provincial counterpart, in an attempt to find a way out of the crisis. But for opposition parties in the Commons, it’s too little, too late. Marc-André Cossette has the latest.
Also on the show: Éric Cardinal, a lecturer on Canadian and Indigenous law at the University of Montreal, on what to expect from this long-awaited meeting.
Finally, Hill journos Joël-Denis Bellavance (La Presse), Manon Cornellier (Le Devoir) and Althia Raj (HuffPost Canada) on this week’s top stories.
