The BlackNorth Initiative: Confronting Anti-Black Racism in Corporate Canada
The Canadian Club Toronto hosts a virtual event to celebrate the launch of the BlackNorth Initiative, a council dedicated to holding corporations accountable for ending anti-Black racism in their organizations. Panellists discuss the lack of racial diversity, the presence of systemic racism, and what can be done to confront anti-Black racism in corporate Canada. Participants include Wes Hall (founder and chair of the BlackNorth Initiative), Rola Dagher (co-chair of the BlackNorth Initiative), Andria Barrett (president of the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce), Don Oliver (senator from 1990 to 2013) and David Simmonds (president-elect of the Canadian Club Toronto).
