2013 was quite a productive year from a legislative standpoint. The Conservative government points out that forty or so bills were passed. However, there were many more developments in Parliament worth noting. We ask the following reporters, who covered federal politics throughout this year, to share their thoughts: Marie Vastel (Le Devoir), Fannie Olivier (Canadian Press) and Martin Croteau (La Presse). Federal and provincial Finance ministers are meeting at Meech Lake next week, and the reform of the Canada Pension Plan will be among the issues addressed. Former chief actuary Bernard Dussault, explains why it is time to take steps to improve benefits.
