Ridings to Watch
Charleswood–St. James–Assiniboia–Headingley and Kildonan–St. Paul
CPAC’s Brandi Morin takes a look at two Winnipeg ridings that switched from Conservative to Liberal in 2015. Both ridings have significant immigrant populations, and taxes, affordability and climate change are kitchen table topics. Charleswood–St. James–Assiniboia–Headingley is a largely middle class riding west of the downtown, where the incumbent is Doug Eyolfson, a medical doctor. He is being challenged by former city councillor Marty Morantz for the Conservatives, Ken St. George of the NDP and former Harper cabinet minister Steven Fletcher running for the People’s Party of Canada. Kildonan–St.Paul is a suburban riding north of the city core where the incumbent is MaryAnn Mihychuk, a former cabinet minister in the government of Justin Trudeau. The Conservatives are running Raquel Dancho, Evan Krosney is the New Democrat and Rylan Reed is carrying the Green Party colours.
