COVID-19: Canada Responds
COVID-19 in P.E.I.: Two More Cases Reported; 5 Active Cases Total – July 5, 2020
At a news conference in Charlottetown, Dr. Heather Morrison, the chief public health officer of Prince Edward Island, reports two new cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease), bringing the total number of new cases in the province to five. Four of the five cases appear to be related to one individual’s coming into contact, in Nova Scotia, with someone who had recently arrived from the United States. One of the cases in that cluster of four involves a worker at a Charlottetown long-term care home; testing of residents and staff at the home has so far not revealed any additional cases. Dennis King, the premier of P.E.I., also takes part in the news conference.
