COVID-19: Quebec Deputy Premier Warns Quebec City is Heading "Into a Wall"
In Québec City, Geneviève Guilbault, the deputy premier and minister of public security, provides an update on her government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on the province’s capital. She is joined by Régis Labeaume, the mayor of Quebec City and Gilles Lehouillier, the mayor of Levis. The deputy premier urges residents of Quebec City and Chaudières-Appalaches to comply with public-health measures, as she warns the city is heading into a wall and the health-care system could be paralyzed by COVID-19. Quebec City has the highest per capita ratio of cases in the whole province. The deputy premier claims some people have been ignoring public-health orders lately and the numbers of COVID-19 cases reflect that accordingly. (October 23, 2020) (no interpretation)
